Some of these shots are amazing, I was looking at getting another UWA to replace a 10-20 I had before and had all but settled on a DA15mm but this lens looks ace!!!
And its cheaper!

this lens is so much fun.I am ADDICTED to WIDEEEEE.
Got myself one that got here yesterday evening and i've been messing around with it all night...and i'm thrilled.

Just one thing though: when autofocus is on the focus ring does not move and in Manual focus the scale moves at a different speed than the focus ring...Everything seems fine so i'm gessing it's like that because of the quick shift feature.
Is it like that in all copies? i just have one other quick shift lens and it isn't Sigma (and in that one the focus ring moves while on AF).

Some of the first shots i've taken with it...This lens is going to be an incredible source of entertainement and pictorial exploration .

Just checking with you Sigma 8-16mm owners, will you guys use it at the beach?
Since it will be filterless, with all the sand flying around.

I would.. just be carefull when you are going to store it and do not leave it on the sand.
Don't think it'll get scratched if you are carefull. Just make sure to blow any grain of sand that may have got on the lens if you are going to clean it.

And just to put some things into perspective you can browse this thread an the links inside of it:
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-slr-lens-discussion/139463-cracked...air-costs.html
and
Dirty lens article

Enjoy your lens, be carefull but do't obsess about possible dangers (if you are cautious nothing will happen, and if something happens it will probably be small and won't affect the IQ much).

Very nice Coeurdechene.
Thanks for the elaboration and links, really appreciate it.
That put me much more at ease.

Was initially worried about the sand and salty sea water.
Not that Im gonna take pictures near the water at all, just in case of splashes etc.

So the only real issue is when changing lens then, ensure no sand fly in the body.

ahhh..Kreuzberg...love Berlin..gotta go back soon, maybe next summer.
Swim in the Krummelanke and walk around Zeelendorf...Go to the abandonned amusement park and the glass factory near treptower park and use the 8-16 there.
And the abandonned military base in the outskirts.
mmm..

A fresh roof top shot...cropped.

Sometimes only wide will do. Some random wide, all at 8mm.

Yep...all the clubs here at pentax forums are for lenses that come in pentax mount (or with takumars and adaptalls they are easily adapted).
