You would think that owning the Pentax 10-17 FE and buying a Pentax 12-24 earlier this year would satisfy my lust for ultra wide lenses. You would be wrong! Saw this thread & realized I still missed the angle of view the Pentax A15 rectilinear gives on the 35 film camera ( still have both ). Ordered the 8-16 Sigma today. It was out of stock in Pentax ( what else is new)? Should be here in a few weeks.

Is the Sigma roughly the same size as the 12-24 or is it even larger diameter ( including Pentax hood )? Can't wait for it to arrive.
thanks

I've not seen the Pentax 12-24 but my 8-16 is a tiny bit smaller than my Sigma 12-24. The Beautiful thing is the build in metal petal lens hood on the 8-16, so you are never mucking about putting it on and taking it off, plus its strong so it really protects the lens element.

Cool shadow shot..

This lens is just the apple of my eye...Along with the two flashes i recently acquired it's heaps of fun....gotta upload some of the last shots when i get some time to work on them.

the pentax is the one on the floor at 1/16 of it's power and i got the Nikon Sb80-dx to the right of my camera shooting through an umbrella at 1/8 +2/3 of it's power.
I'll upload some of the shots made with the stroboscopic mode of the flashes sometime soon.
