Now that is a great shot. Was it a right-place-right-time thing or did you camp out and stalk that one? But the clouds, sun pier and shadows are just great to my eye...gotta love this underappreciated lens. funny though anyone I find who owns it is thrilled, people who don't or have never used it sort of blow it off or have never heard of the darned thing.

As it always is with good photography, right place - right time. Sunsets are extremely difficult to predict, often in conditions where you think it will be fantastic, something changes at the last minute and it turns out to be a complete dud.

We'll back you up that it's not a "new" lens. 8-)

Nope--not even "additional lens" really (depending on how you define "additional") It's really more of an...um...accessory. Yeah, that's it--it's an accessory--am I right?

For some reason the Post guy left a package with this unique lens inside my mail box So I thought the prudent thing to do was to take it for a brief morning walk yesterday after dropping my wife off at work

It produces wiiiiide images for sure and the lens itself has a nice build quality...this is only the second Sigma lens I have ever owned and I'm not sure when they started using the smoother lens barrel coating but I like it. Images render nicely and I am a bit surprised at the edge sharpness. It does have a tendency to flare under certain circumstances (not surprising given the very convex front element) so definitely have to be more mindful than with the 15mm ltd. I am using it on the K01 and manual focus is fine with the focus peaking and focus magnification. Overall I am glad I got one.
