[Cross-posted] In late May when visiting my parents things (time of year, weather, new moon, remembered tripod, not too much alcohol) finally fell into place and I was able to have a first attempt at photographing the Milky Way. THe Sigma 8-16mm came along for the ride

What an idyllic spot to be on what looks like a lovely day (unless it was crushing hot).

Warmish in mid 20s - it was a pretty spot in the middle of town.

wow, lovely sky and beautiful capture. I am scratching my head over the equipment used. How much vignetting had to be cropped at 16mm? Cool

I had to crop about 6MP off the image around the edges, on the K-1 the sigma 8-16mm is only really usable at 16mm - anything wider than that, and the lens vignettes spectacularly.

Good to know if I ever decide to get a K1 and keep my current glass.

Looks like this thread could use a bump. Taken with the K3 both at 11mm. I tried to correct for distortions on the last shot but there is only so much I can do.
