No clue what the magnification was. My guess was around 7-8X.
I could have calculated the magnification but I didn't really care what it was exactly.
Stackshot was used.
That's crazy awesome! I've been meaning to try focus stacking, but I never get around to it. Maybe you've inspired me enough. I'll definitely try it manually with bellows first, though, before investing in something like the StackShot.
Here's some asbestos crystals taken with the Sigma 50mm f/2.8 macro, AF version. I think this was around 1:3 or 1:2, at f/11. I love this lens more every time I use it. Light source was an LED bike headlight with a tissue over it.
