Thanks pigmy. I will inform our gardener, my nephew. He finds these exotic plants and plants them, but usually doesn't know their names.

Great images, everyone!

Thanks for posting the monarch caterpillar, Dave. You do nice work with that sigma.

I'm both a bit jealous, and sad, as this is the first year in my life that I have not seen a monarch; just one tattered viceroy. I even planted butterfly weed in hopes of supporting the population. Come to think of it, I've not seen a swallowtail either. There's not much time left this year to see either.

Used to be we couldn't take a trip of any distance without cleaning one or two out of the grill.

This is also the first year that there have been no honeybees around the property. I won't complain about them mobbing a hummingbird feeder again!

Our images are important. We may be recording organisms that the next generation never sees in the wild. I'm keeping more "record" shots for that reason.

I don't think the mosquito below will have that problem, though!

Thanks! Butterflies were pretty sparse on my buddleia this year. The monarch caterpillar was on the milkweed I keep in the yard specifically for them (also for the fragrance.) Good work with the mosquito!
