Thanks for posting the monarch caterpillar, Dave. You do nice work with that sigma.
I'm both a bit jealous, and sad, as this is the first year in my life that I have not seen a monarch; just one tattered viceroy. I even planted butterfly weed in hopes of supporting the population. Come to think of it, I've not seen a swallowtail either.
There's not much time left this year to see either.
Used to be we couldn't take a trip of any distance without cleaning one or two out of the grill.
This is also the first year that there have been no honeybees around the property. I won't complain about them mobbing a hummingbird feeder again!
Our images are important. We may be recording organisms that the next generation never sees in the wild. I'm keeping more "record" shots for that reason.
I don't think the mosquito below will have that problem, though!
