Came across this wasp a few weeks ago. It was sluggish and not all of its legs seemed to be working just right. It wasn't until after I saw the shots I'd taken that I noticed the broken left wing. It must have suffered some calamity.

Couldn't happen to a more deserving insect! I got a pant leg full of yellow jackets in a field when I stepped on the underground hive. I was about 10. I still freak out (ask SWMBO -- she will tell you that is true) whenever one comes near. Only yellow jackets do it. Black and white hornets don't bother me at all.

That's an eye-stopper aslyfox. BTW: I never thought to ask whether your site-moniker = "aslyfox" - was inspired by the play.

Don't think this is flower, more a different kind of leaf formation on this Sedum plant. Only about 7mm across, so decided to use my Tamron 90mm macro plus the Pentax DA 1.4x TC on my K-3.

Not a macro but taken with the K-1 and Sigma 70 macro 2.8. I'm milking these raven shots for everything they are worth.

Great shot, and fantastic subject isolation makes it look 3D.

How much did you crop that shot? Just curious, since it was shot with a 70mm I doubt you were that close.

This bird was very close. I actually changed from the DA*200 to the 70 for bit more context. That always preserves more detail than backing up.

With the 200 sometimes it was just too tight to get the whole birds in the frame.
