As a mild arachnophobe that's so disgusting, but a great, sharp shot of it!

Just playing around with the Sigma 70mm f2.8 macro coupled to a F 1.7x AF on a K-5iis. Cross post from Sigma lens club.

SMC-Pentax M 100/4 on the K-r - one of my favorite lenses for landscape, panoramas and macro by the way...

Augochlora on Rudbeckia.
Note the two colors of pollen, she's been collecting from Rattlesnake Master and Rudbeckia (black, brown, grey, Susan flowers)

Namibian beetle. As you might guess from the very long legs, these common beetles are scampery and consequently a challenge to get framed and in focus.

Thanks for comment and glad if you enjoyed the image. Touch-me-not (jewelweed) is blooming along many of the trails where we walk in the morning, although to me the crop seems smaller than in previous years. That's odd because most wildflowers have been more abundant this Spring & Summer than ever I can remember.

Not Just for Macro

D-FA 100 WR in a wide open, low light setting. A shout out for the KS-2 at 6400ASA, too. LED stage lights are here to stay.

The artists are (three members of) the Hot Rocks Pilgrims and (the whole of) the Goat Roper Rodeo Band.

I noticed a moth sitting on a stuffed animal which is sitting on top of my computer screen and took out my gear.

K-S2, D-FA 100 WR, f/16, tripod, handheld ring light, stacked in CombineZP (method: Pyramid Do Stack)

0.8s, 6 frames, cropped by ~2/3rds

Moth Top View

0.4s, 9 frames, cropped by ~1/3rd

Moth Sive View

The moth didn't like it when I tried to turn the stuffed animal with it on its side and took off.

Monarch butterfly egg, an old one that in the event, never hatched. Three file stack taken with a 200mm SMCA f4 (NOT the ED macro) fitted with a reverse-mounted 100mm f4 bellows lens, then deeply cropped. The egg is no more than one millimeter in length.
