In recent months I have begun keeping ants, and since then I invested in a macro lens. After my camera being out of action for a while I am getting to grips with macro shooting :-)

Thanks for sharing. The focus is a bit in front of the subject, otherwise it would have been a nice shot. :-)

@Artesian: lovely colours and some great details on all three. I like the little hairs on the antenae on the second photo best.

Well shot! From working on ants (wild) I know all too well how fast they move and therefore how difficult to keep within the plane of focus.

It’s subjective, I know, but I find the in-focus arc being around the actual subject works pretty well, and the ant was sufficiently in focus to allow a fair amount of detail, nonetheless.
