Quick stack from the D-FA 100! Quite happy with the sharpness but I really need to improve my flash technique for these glossier subjects.

John
Quite nice & TFS ... what did you use for the stack? J

Thanks Jean.... first Lightroom (in particular for CA reduction) then Zerene, using the DMap process.

I think I might invest in a linear translation stage at some point to make this easier, I did it three times (manually inching the focus ring very carefully) and none were totally perfect, but I am getting the knack.

OK ... Thanks for your reply. I am going to attack stacking sometimes soon, so I was curious what you had used ... J

Does DA 18-55 WR count as macro lens if I put extension tubes on it...

Nice work there -- I love the even line of drops in the second one. Technically, this thread is for dedicated macro lenses; the thread for macro with ordinary lenses on extension and so on is:

One from today with the A50/2.8 macro, just about 1:2 and slightly cropped (some selective exposure adjustments in GIMP):

Very impresed with the performance of the CZJ on tubes! Any chance you could post some 100% crops?

Also the Micro Nikkor - is that a conversion, or are those shots on a non-Pentax body?
I must make some, but overall the Pancolar is not worse than Micro Nikkor for macro. The Nikkor has difractions problems after F8.0, Pancolar starts to get difraction from F16 so I like it for more magnification.
The nikkor is used without modifications on body and macro tubes which are pentax .
It is awesome lens and at 4.0-5.6 the sharpness is so much that I can't describe it. If I make bigger magnifications with macro reel - that's the lens for shooting with focus stack. It is just sharper than anything else.

I what the heck, I cross posted everywhere else, may as well cross post here too...

A few more images, this time using the Sigma 70 macro and 1.4 TC.. which registers as a 98mm ƒ4.

K-3 SIgma 70 macro with HD DA 1.4 TC

Wide open at ƒ4

Stopped down to ƒ22

Glad to know the Sigma 70 is compatible with the new TC -- it isn't compatible with plain A-type TCs (i.e., with no data pin). Shots look good.
