Aye indeed, I picked her up secondhand a while ago, cosmetically a bit shabby, which kinda always appeals to me, but optically superb, she is without doubt the sharpest in the harem... but don't tell the other "Ladies".

Bubble beauty

Just because it's a Macro lens doesn't mean you have to use it for macro shots

Pentax A 100mm f2.8 Macro, wide open on the K1.

Our winter garden

Living in the Northeast US, especially this March, my focus turns to the indoor world.

Taken with a K-50, 100 mm SMC DFA WR Macro, 1/60, f5.6, ISO 200

Part of a worm casing made up of hundreds of tiny seashells cemented together. K-3, Tamron 90mm macro and 1.4x teleconverter. Cross-posted on the "Beach walks" thread.

When it's Springtime in the Rockies

At least it's melting some.

Woke up to sun on icicles outside the bedroom window. Couldn't resist a shot, and the FA 100/2.8 macro was on the camera. What can I say?

As a "berry geek" I'm anxious for the season to change. Still dealing with piles of snow here (though I have been out in the boat a few times already, including yesterday)...While pouring chokecherry syrup on gooseberry pancakes this morning I thought about the steamer full from last summer.

This is a 14 shot stacked image (note foreground handles in focus, berries all in focus, yet background slightly defocused--stacking allows this). The chokecherries are in what's sold as a Mormon Steamer which makes rendering the juice much easier than the old Foley food mill and cheesecloth method...Note that the reflection of the planks on my deck greatly changed the image depending on composition and placement of the steamer. I liked this view best...Also, no polarizer was used because the black chokecherries needed a bit of glare to differentiate one berry from the next.

Shot through whatever the newer model of 100/2.8 Macro is called nowadays. I think it's D FA100/2.8 Macro AW? Would have been identical through F100, FA100, DA100...or this lens.
