Was it hitch-hiking? Very well done.

A much hated plant in the USA that nevertheless is an attractive photo subject. A fairly deep crop from an image that included the entire seed head.

As far as weeds go, dandelions aren't that ugly. They do tend to make better subjects when they've gone to seed, like you demonstrate.

The flowers are fairly attractive. A face-on image showing the radial spray of petals (bracts?) is interesting.

And I get my exercise pulling the d*** things out of my lawn. People have been known to make dandelion wine. Very few of them make drinkable dandelion wine.

This is the original version of the dandelion, without cropping. It was a multi-file image stack done in my "studio."

I don't know, or want to know how many hours my father spent trying to rid the lawn of dandelions. I resolved never to get sucked into being preoccupied with maintaining putting-green lawn. Consequently, large patches of our "lawn" are growing something that is not commercial grass.

Amen to that! I have a mismatch of various "grasses" but when mowed it looks fine!

On the stacked shot, did you remove seeds to get the cutaway view or was that as recovered from the yard?

Where I live the most common "TOADS" are behind motor homes. RV pun intended.
