Les Plumes de Louet

Our canary, Louet, is aging. He no longer flies; his feathers just don't grow correctly any more. If there is a loud conversation, however, he still sings louder than a whole group of tea drinkers.

Notre canari, Louet, vieillit. Il ne vole plus; ses plumes ne poussent plus correctement. Cependant, s'il y a une conversation bruyante, il chante plus fort que tout un groupe de buveurs de thé.

K-3, FA Macro 100/2.8, ISO 400, 1/50@f/4

In answer to mknowles and edom31;

Mine's not much cleaner! (Pentax 35mm 1:2.8 macro limited ) This is a "parts" ME Super I got in a boxed lot with the Spotmatic SP II that I was after.

I pulled out the Tamron 90mm macro when the DA*300m was just too limiting!

I found the M 50mm F4 Macro to be great lens to use with an adapter on the Nikon 1 V1. The camera won't operate without electrical contacts to the lens, so I had to buy a chipped adapter from a fabricator who sells on ebay. Unfortunately the adapter wasn't a perfect fit to the mount and turned out not to be very durable, but I had a good time with it while it worked. It functioned as a medium telephoto with a 35mm equivalent reproduction ratio greater than 1:1 due to the 1" sensor, great for bugs.

Due to the reasonably short focus throw for a macro I was even able to grab an occasional "bug in flight" shot, like this Great Golden Digger Wasp:

I have taken steps to clean my hotshoe (albeit I do not use flash [yet?]). I actually use my ME Super plenty.
