Didn't know they could sting multiple times either.
It may depend on what exactly is doing the stinging. For bees stinging larger creatures like humans, it's usually fatal for the bee, and they can only sting once. I don't think that's the case for wasps and hornets.

IMHO the scariest hymentopteran locally is the cicada-killer wasp. It is big, more than an inch (~2.5cm) long with a stinger about a quarter inch long, and they can sting multiple times as can most wasps. When I was a kid a friend was stung by one at the base of his thumb, the bulgy area at that corner of your palm. His hand swelled up so much it looked almost like a boxing glove. Of course, excess allergic reaction is a factor. People with an intense reaction could die from such a sting. Aside from being careful because of that potential danger, strings really, really hurt.

That sounds scary, both bug and sting results!

That's a very nice result; the lighting is really even. How do you like the ringlight more generally, e.g. in terms of practical use?

The inexpensive continuous LED ( not a flash) 3volt ringlight I’m using is too dim for use off a tripod.

Aha, so not really usable in the field, I guess. That's a pity. I'll keep looking or try to build something myself.

Love those colors and the texture of the yarn strands.

I've always found it interesting how the coloured enraved markings on the black bodies Takumar and K through A K-mount lenses shows up more clearly in photos than it does in real life.

Green cuckoo wasp

The photo was taken with the Pentax K1 and the Pentax FA 100mm F2.8, there were three little cockoo wasp that fly betwin some small dry reed, I try to take a picture to one of these in fly and after many attempts I got that.

The 50mm f4.0 PS Takumar was my first macro lens, and it was an admirable performer. One of the photo magazines at the time commented something along the lines of: "do not be deceived by the small, deep-set front element, There's a real gem down there."
