Hmmm, looks like I'll be on the lookout for a Tamron 90/2.8..... These are great results! How do you like that lens otherwise?

Great, how do you like it in terms of focussing? I only have the M100/4 macro right now and love the feeling of focussing by hand with that lens.

These are lovely, but I like the first one best, the subtlety in the greens and browns works very well.

I impulsively bought a Pentax 100mm F4 Dental Macro a couple weeks ago, just because I wanted to experiment with macro photography. I did cheat a little and couple it up with a helicoid extension tube that has been in my bag for 20+ years and never used.

the focusing is ok.....do wish it were a bit stiffer so to speak....does not have that smooth resistance feeling that you get with older primes......all the macro work is manual focusing...mostly getting close then I move back n forth to try and get good focus......the AF is quick n snappy when shooting my dogs or peoples.....the limiter switch does come in handy and seriously reduces any hunting for focus that may occur

OK, That's good to know, and it confirms some of my suspicions. I guess one does get spoiled when using all of these old mechanical marvels.

Minolta AF 50/2.8 Macro

These are excellent, especially the first one that is very sharp and has some great colours.

So sharp! Seriously, lovely lighting and 3-d feel.

Got the old Vivitar Series I 90/2.5 out for a session, first time in a while. This is also a focus stack, 3 shots:

Thank you for your feedback, very much appreciated.
Nice flower, like it very much. Focus stack without any artifacts and very well set. What‘s the f-stop used?
