Clematis closeups

Our clematis are just starting to bloom, so one of my favorite macro targets will again be available.

The second image is particularly lovely. I like the way in which the clematis provides its own background.

Thank you. I have almost one hundred clematis, so more photos can be expected as the growing season progresses!

Thanks! I've come to terms that I'm more comfortable with a 50mm than a 100mm Macro.

Not the most photogenic subjects, but well taken.

Indeed, but they also deserve some attention. Thanks for the kind words.

RCMP Commerative Coin

We who are/were associated with the RCMP here in the Elk Valley of British Columbia province in Canada were given very nice commemorative coins last week. I used the FA 100/2.8 macro, hand held, with each side of the coin up on a sheet of paper in North window light.

The coin is 1.75 inches in diameter (4 cm) and will be kept with all my special regalia, reminding me of "exciting" nights making sure the drunks didn't die while working as an on call Detention Guard for almost six years. Exposure brightened in LightRoom Classic. There was the odd more intense "guest" but we try to forget those as much as we can.

The reverse of the coin shows the Ghost Rider shadow on Mount Hosmer near Fernie, 30 km (20 mi) West of Sparwood. It comes complete with a legendary dispute . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Hosmer_(British_Columbia)

Congratulations for being awarded the coin. The excellent macros capture all the colors and detail. Your hand holding skills are top notch. Wasn't aware of a Ghost Rider shadow. Interesting and darn neat.

Thanks for sharing,
