These are lovely, I like the second one a lot for showing the natural surroundings of these mushrooms; it just seems a bit oversharpened.

Yes, potentially oversharpened - I was simply using the built-in editor at flickr briefly to try and tweak and may have overdone it. Need to look at the editing market and pick a reasonable, quick piece of macos software as the last thing I purchased many moons ago was Lightroom 2.

A quirky interface but brilliant bit of FREE software -- Faststone Image Viewer. The denoise and sharpening tools are excellent.

Paulownia tementosa, flower and nut

A close up from May 21: Paulownia tementosa, flower and nut, found the day before in a small public park in town; field width is 10cm approx. My first acceptable focus stack with 10 images. SMC-Takumar 35/3.5 (focus set on lens to infinity) at f8 with 10mm extension ring (Asahi No. 1), which works works well on behalf of subject width and resolution. K1 in pixel shift and AWB mode, mounted on Novoflex Macro slider.

For me its lightroom all the way. I have photoshop but rarely use it. I did try Topaz Denoise and Sharpen, but I found it too cumbersome on my old processor.

Excellent detail and lovely colours. I remember seeing a 'pollinators in action thread'; if you haven't seen that, consider posting this over there as well.

That's very nice; did you use a flash or is this natural light?

I don't specifically remember, but almost certainly natural light. The shadow of the leaf is too soft and wrongly positioned for a flash image.

Thanks for letting me know. The highlights on the dew drops made me think that this may have involved a flash.

Taken with the M100/4 macro at f/8 and mfd. For some reason the background, which consists of larch wood, has turned purple. Not sure what caused this.
