Here's my effort to keep the Lanthar Madness going: A few images from the
local greenhouse, taken using Our Favorite Macro Lens (the 125) with available light and scanned from slide film.

Finally arrived!

[B][B]Just wanted to tell you that I finally received both Voigtlander Apo Lanthar 180 f/4 and 90 f/3.5 for M42 fitting. I know it is not the 125 Macrobut I couldn´t afford it or find it. Anyway I can´t post pictures with the glass yet since I´m waiting for the original Pentax M42 adapter.

Meanwhile just give you a quick shot of the lens. They are beautifully built.
Next week I hope I will be abble to post some pictures.

I ordered mine from England last week. Can't wait. I've never shot an M42 lens, but the chance to have another Lanthar was enough to make me take the plunge! Coloseu - I'll bet you get yours posted first

Seriously dreamy and artistic. What a winner here. I thought Ilford is out of production already. Maybe I am a little behind in Australia...

Hey thanks a lot for the compliment. yep, Ilford films still quite available here, the FP, Deltas, HP5 plus... and there's even a retailer for the relatively well known china made "Lucky" brand of B&W negatives.

Voigtlander 180/4 Lanthar APO M42 mount

Came a day or so ago. I finally had a chance to shoot it. This is wide open (haven't jimmied the Auto/manual pin yet). This is about a 150% crop (I'm not keen on getting too close). ISO 100. These lenses simply do not disappoint!

Note sure - think it's a white-faced wasp - but I'm no expert...

Be well

Well, I was at the Bronx Zoo in New York a few weeks ago, finally got the pictures off the camera. Used the voightlander 125 for telephoto. No real editing at (just crops), the lion I adjusted white balance (he was in the shade). Here is a few I liked:

I will most likely post this in the photo section but thought it should be here as well for those who might think about using the 125 as a telephoto. Manual focus is something that is pretty simple once you get use to it.

This lens would be the hardest reason to leave Pentax if I ever were to choose to do so.

Don't you just love it?! I have taken some shots w/this lens that looks good & sharp @ 200% & 300% crops!

Now, I'm not going anywhere, but in this regard you mention, I'm not sure if you realize this is one of the few lenses we use that is [well, was] available on other mounts [& available on the secondary market now].

I have seen the Canon mount, and I'm actually considering buying one just to hold onto it before I decide between K20D and selling out and moving to (whatever the 5D's successor is.) I've never seen a Nikon-mount version floating around in the aftermarket.
