Voigtlander 180/4

I thought I might add some pics taken with the Voigtlander 180/4. A great lens ! Even under difficult conditions, I could not see CA or PF yet.

You simply won't see much of it. All Lanthars are APOs that actually live up to the billing. Fantastic optics. Very nice shots again as well - I have to ask, are you already under ice out there!? Oh summer, where have you gone...

Thank you ! And don't worry, the picture with ice was taken last spring. These days it is around 20oC here, so I hope I won't see ice soon

Let me give this thread a bump & say I love the Dogwood trees in Autumn for reasons that should be obvious...

Shot 2 hours before sunset w/the sun behind the tree & to the right. I did do some changes to the curves & other exposure/contrast/fill/black level adjustments, but did not boost saturation or vibrancy in LR one bit! The scene needed a wide aperture else the other leaves & branches were too discretely visible.

(the camera didn't know the focal length of the lens yet, so SR was off too)

both f/2.8

Default minimal sharpening on all. That bright edge at the "worm's chew zone" is not from any pp rather just natural specular reflection from the sunlight just behind & to the right.

Same subject as above but a different angle, showing a different aspect of the lens's bokeh (dark on light). Reset camera and set the focal length, with w/SR.

f/3.2

All the shots w/th lens stopped down got deleted, with the bg way too busy. And anyway we know this lens doesn't need to be stopped down to perform like a star.

Nice series. Very colorful captures there and a good balance of funky bokeh and a ragingly crisp point of focus. I assume its the Lanthar?

Ah, I forgot to say. Yes, the 125/2.5 APO-Lanthar. Today looks like another clear crisp windless day, and I think I'll pull out the tripod and re-shoot in an hour.

The Voigtlander 90/3.5 is back in stock at CameraQuest, but it's $499 now. I really like mine and use it a lot more than I thought I would, but that's a pretty high price for a slow lens. Still, there may be someone here who wants to complete a set.

FOR SALE
Hi All, thanks for the above message. After reading all those pages relatively unhurt (financially), finally I get at the end, just to find that message. Ahummmmm......... 608 reasons ( Lens hood and s/h included) to hunt each one of you down, till hell freezes over, if that lens doesn't live up to its expectations. in about 7 days.
BTW, congrats on your first year anniversary. Please allow me to help out making it two. (when that little beauty arrives, that is.)

Good light to you all,

I love playing with these great lenses. Here's 4 more from my Voigtlander family; the APO-Lanthar 125mm macro and the Nokton 58mm.
