Any rumours of new SL2 releases?
Or did Cosina stop it to not spoil the Zeiss lens line?
I know that Camera Quest has had a steadily rising price on the VLs as supply has diminished or depleted. That said, you can still buy the 90 or 180 brand new from them - Voigtlander SL Lenses

I bought my SL125 from Camera Quest a little more than a year ago for 695US brand new. Shortly thereafter they rose to 795 and sold out. A few in Canon mount later sold for 1000 from the same place.

Similarly, the VL90 and 180 each sold for around 300 at that time but now list for 499 and 525 respectively.

Its been over a year since the last hint of news of any SLIIs. I've asked very nicely for any clues from Stephen at Camera Quest but have been told its very quiet over at Cosina regarding future SLIIs at the moment.

I'd read a first hand account of a visit to Cosina's assembly plant in rural Japan and it was mentioned that the Voigts and Zeiss were produced each on their own line in the same plant. I'd hoped that would mean continued SLII releases at the time. Fwiw, Cosina have continued to produce Voigts for their rangefinders during Zeiss torrid release schedule (the 21/2.8 is postponed until Spring). I was rather hoping a version for SLR of their 35/1.2 would emerge...

Thanks for the links!
And thank you for your assessment, Kelly.

Even though Cosina is not selling large quantities of these lenses they are building up a reputation. They should definitely expand the series.

Stephen Candy is a very good seller from Camera Quest. Fast shipping and prompt communication. But he is definitely not negotiable with pricing... Still he beats the pricing of mainline photography (the authorised whole saler in Australia providing pathetic service and charging a terrible premium on the poor selection of VL lenses)

I've been under the impression the Cosina are no longer building the Voightlander series due to their arrangement with Zeiss.

I did not expect 12mm Helliar f5.6 ceased of production as well. Really a sad news. I just bought one for a very good price on R3A

It shows that the only SLII lenses left in production are the 40mm Ultron and the 58mm Nokton. Damn!

Well to be fair, those were the only SLIIs, heh. Still, stocks of series I keep popping up (125 aside) and a big hope remains that something is in the pipe for the future with the IIs.

Put the KatzEye on this weekend and spent some time with it, using my Cosina 55/1.2 & Voigtlander 125/2.5. This being is the best focused one of this particular subject (as the sun sets, yes, I've got some nice shots coming later ). One of a hundred & a half...

As we know this lens can focus "past infinity" (well, not exactly it turns out), remarkable how just the slightest microfocus change near infinity can make a big difference. And when you get it right, it's spectacular... These being 3 web-friendly 100% crops:

Regarding focusing at infinity... I think what I (and I guess all) think is & needs infinity, isn't. There were some shots taken that day where the lens was firmly at infinity to provide the best focus. Subject just a bit further away do call for full infinity.
