I think I'll have to see if I can find the VLII58/1.4 and take some shots side by side with VLI50/1.8 (which I love).
I look forward to that.

Those DKL mount Voigtlander 135mm f4.0 Super-Dynarex go for around US$100 over here with the 2.8 versions around US$150. The f4.0 look much nicer though with the silver banding The 200/4 goes for US$200-400 when you can find them. There's even a Skopagon 40/2 if you have SU$1,000 to spare !
Thanks for the info Kevin. I can't seem to find out if the Super Bessematic Dynarex uses a DKL mount, or if I have to grind it first to fit the adapter, as is shown in that link I gave you. Nobody selling them seems to bother to describe the Bessematic mount type. Do you know?

Thanks so much Kevin, sounds like more VL lenses are available for Pentax than I realized!

Interesting light Mika, were the clouds/sky really green or is that how the Ultron rendered them?

I believe you can find a nice comparison in this thread.

Neither. The turquoise clouds are basically a side effect of me playing around with various filters for dramatic effect.

If you use matrix metering remember to make sure the copy you are being offered is the SLII version as they are chipped to allow matrix metering. Not sure how much of a difference it makes but would be a disappointing thing to learn after the fact. It really doesn't matter to me and how I shoot but I am certain it does to others.
As far as I know, all Voigtländer lenses for Pentax have been PKA mount and act like A - lenses. They have all the functionality you need for metering in whatever mode you chose.
'Chipped' is for Nikon mount lenses where the SLI versions act like Ai-S lenses and can only be used in Aperture priority or Manual. No Shutter priority here since you have to set the aperture with the ring on the lens. The chipped SLII lenses act like Ai-P where you get all metering modes available.

Right, at least both of my SLI lenses behave exactly as the SLII lenses.

The one possible exception is that the SLI lenses I have (VL75 and VL180) seem to over-expose more than the SLII lenses. I haven't gotten around to it yet, but I want to test in a controlled setting using all three metering modes, and all the VL lenses.

I have only used SLI lenses but I never noticed a tendency to over-expose.
I'm curious to the outcome of your tests.

Where? I bought one last year for more than $45.00 and it was the cheapest price I could find at the time. If I could get one for $30.00, I wouldn't mind buying a couple of them.

Thanks,

Yes I agree with Les and Frogfish.

A lens club thread to include Voigtlander, Zeiss, and Contax LBA (possibly also Leica R ) would be of interest to me.
