Great to see more shots :P
I tried to research the new VL's since they are not really new.

the 58 was available under the topcor name beofre, shots didnt look fantastic but then most f1.4 lenses doesnt look that great wide open, except the zeiss 85 i recently checked out, but that lens has got ugly bokeh. I digress.
The 40 looks very nice though. I had decided to get the 43 limited but its not that sharp wide open even tho its sharp as hell stopped down, if the 40 has that VL look that I love and is sharp as a knife wide open then it will be a tough battle.
it looks like they changed the hood in the new version tho, I think the old hood looks really cool

as for the 180 I think I will get it, sooner or later, if later then pending availability.
it fits in my primes plan, altho it is slow for indoor or after dark use vs a 200 f2.8, but its very cheap and small.

the 90 doesnt fit anywhere in my plans. its too long, too close to my 100mm, and its very slow. if it had been 80mm f2.8 then id get it. granted 90 f3.5 is not that far off, but...

I had decided to get a portrait prime before xmas, but I ended up putting it off, was testing the da 70 and the fa 77 in a store... Id rather have an fa 85 though. was thinking about the zeiss 85 and its sharp as hell, very impressive wide open but the bokeh seems to be a deal breaker, very harsh. the 90 could be good for portraits but i suspect it is too sharp. for portraits some lenses just have nice rendering even tho they may not be razor sharp, like the 77.

I love the 125, I have been playing around with it indoors every day, the focusing ring feel is great, and because of the fast aperture it works great with my split prism screen. I love the rendering of the lens, something the 180 and 90 seems to share. the 58 does not seem to have that look, though. at least not the topcor version from what i have seen. the 40 does seem to have it....

hm I dunno.....

its great that someone is getting the 90 so we can get the full report :P

congrats on the full set! (for now at least)

I've noticed the lens call Topcon and Topcor, either way, its Voightlander now in the Cosina version which gives me huge faith.

now , THAT , is one creative unveiling! And, you deserve it!

Not knowing your age or such, I'm just hoping you don't have kids tho as this sickness will eventually be impacting their college fund at some point. (none here for me)

Just good timing...

I have a good idea what it is, but I was being patient and waiting for additional post(s) and presentation. Figured you would have said if you weren't planning another surprise!

Too late for more pictures, lights are out. I was surprised the camera store was still open, got home late.

So go ahead and guess before I reveal it

Not knowing where you are located, but guessing it's not the US since you were able to pop down to the local camera shop and buy the lenses, I've venture a guess that it could be somewhere in Asia and that maybe you managed to get the new PK mount versions of the 40 and 58?

hehehehe

But I'm probably wrong on all fronts.

they are not out yet AFAIK.... I heard nov and dec for them, I dont remember which is when.
they did have the 40 tho, I guess in m42, I didnt ask.

When I went there the first time, they just happened to have all 3 PK-A Voigtlanders, only 1 of each, and in the window! thats how I knew they had it. they dont have any other mounts for them and they only had 1 of each.

Release dates:
ULTRON 40mm F2 SLII Aspherical(Ai-S) 17 nov
ULTRON 40mm F2 SLII Aspherical(KA) 17 dec

..although on the cosina japan page it says 29 nov for the KA version.

58: says "in december", looks like they will cost the same...

my guess:

- one of them is a most definitely: 180/4 APO-Lanthar Close Focus
- the other one is more of a guess: 40/2 Ultron Aspherical SL
- either that of the 90/3.5 SL APO-Lanthar ... but that's so close to the 125/2.5 and you have I believe a 100mm already too? ... which is why I thought it was the 40 f/2.

...unless, gasp, you got the 15/4.5 SL Heliar Aspherical?!

Well, not much of a series of guesses. I just basically listed everything likely!

looks like they will change the hood from the old hella-cool version, se picture i posted in this thread.

funny, two pages I just read both talk about a closeup filter when they list the specifications. you get 1:4 ratio with the filter attatched and it attatches to the dome shaped hood, this was not possible with the old version because it doesnt have threads.

I wonder if you will actually get a closeup filter with the lens, more likely you will have to buy it seperately like some of the hoods now. altho some pages does list the hood for the 58 for a seperate price, but no seperate price on the filter and dome of the 40

I guess this is to keep in line with the close focusing abilities of the old gang of 3?

here is a very small shot of the lens with hood and filter attatched

Am sorry to create an anti-climax but it is far from as exiting as your suggestions. the answer can be found in the first picture of this thread. I now have the same as our own pirate does. Unless he has gotten his 90mm already...

I guess you were close with your last guess though but its not SL 75 its LH 75-S
