Colour reproduction, saturation and contrast is king. I could've done better than my lazy 'focus to infinity, ignore the horizon', however:

I didn't doubt you for a second! Also, many thanks. The former is my first try at panning, at night, from a bedroom window... I'm reasonably happy with the result!

Buckets of contrast and eaking out all of the colour, especially yellows and oranges... oh, and blues and purples... it's quite good at greens too...

It's good at colours.

I'm always drawn in by pictures taken with the 58mm and those are no exceptions. I still suspect that this is mostly due to the photographers using them diligently, more than the rendering properties of the lens.

I've posted some Color Skopar examples in the 20mm club, such as 20 mm Lens Club. - Page 47 - PentaxForums.com, here's another one, using some of the 20's strengths.

The Color Skopar 20mm, while named 'my DA15 for the K1' above, isn't quite the flare buster that my HD DA15mm is. But with a little care on the angle, it can still record nice contrasty images even with the sun in the frame.

I edited out 5 small distracting ghosts in the sky and significantly lifted the shadows.
