Ah, so there is a mystery afoot.

I'm sorry to hear it's that for you, but at the same time happy to hear too, as I now know that's normal and not some qc issue attributable to my screen (was being paranoid).

Thanx for the confirm. Maybe it's a behavior of the screen with long lenses only; related to viewing angle & the amount of light you get over an area. You get a heck of a lot of area coverage thus light with a wide angle compared to a telephoto. I've been lazy and haven't attached all my lenses (plus TCs) to determine scope of this behavior. Will do this weekend.

To the many many ppl who find this their fave lens in their line up - same here!

Three shots below from the lens - heavily pp'ed to bring out the feel of the place.

Funnily enough, I never got the hang of the lens on a DSLR - the shots below are on B&W film, shot on a MZ - 3.
Hey, nice shots! I love this lens a lot, just got it. It's making me crave the same quality in something wider...

Give'n the thread a bump. Took these w/the 125/2.5 at the same time I took some Cosina 55/1.2 shots I shared [here].

The statue & plant still life seen in the other thread was much bolder with Cosina in the ambient afternoon northern exposure light (didn't touch that one much); the one here needed a more significant pp bump...

(was surprised when I saw ISO-1000)

... but the photo rendering with the in-door low-voltage spots when night came around really popped w/the Voigtlander; these 1st & 3rd below un-touched & 2nd barely re-touched:

I have always wanted the 125mm f/2.5 but I guess I'll have to Settle for a Carl Zeiss 100mm f/2 macro that only focuses down to 1:2....boo hoo

Oooh, 100mm f/2. I'm salivating. That sounds like a perfect lens for me; I didn't know about it until now. Is that an A lens or K mount? ...and, put it on an extension tube, and there's your 1:1.

I checked the price for that Carl Zeiss f/2 macro and it's about $1932 USD or $3080 Aud....ouch.

Ok these are Voigtlander shots but they are not from a Pentax body. I have the 58 mm f1.4 Pentax mount coming but it is not here yet. So I made do with the Voigtlander 40 f1.4 Leica M on a G1 body.

Forgive me please.;-)

Roses for Linda

with the VL 125. I forgot to re-set the focal length (so it shows 35mm in the EXIF)...

Be well

Received my Voigtlander 58 f1.4 today and just so happened to have a photoshoot with a model. So I tested the lens on her.

Here are a couple of sample. Standard post processing applied.

Oops, sorry for the late reply - am using the K20D and the MZ - 3 for film. Not much problem with focusing, just need to squint.. heh. Most of the time with the super thin focusing plane with the vt 58 nokton, I find that camera share is my main issue, not the actual focusing.
