This is the Vivitar 13mm f/2.8 (Samyang 14) and it's excellent in astrophotography. This is mainly because of the good coma control, manual focus, wide aperture and sharpness wide open at a wide focal length.
Et here are some non-astro, which I think performed well.
You do the lens justice. Exceptional night photos there.

Sorry, I don't think the lens is the star of these photos!

Hi

Just dropped in Samyang club thread. I just got me a 14mm and my K5 asks me for focal lenth. Should I use the nearest setting 15mm or is there a way to be more precise?

It is not a problem to chose 15mm, even 18mm if you are close to the original mm the stabilization will work fine and the number close so you will know which lens you have used for the shot.

And just not to be offtopic- 2 shots with 85 1.4 on extension tubes.

It seems that it is nice as macro lens

Got a new Samyang today. Bought on the forum. It's branded Sears but was told it is actually a Samyang. 135mm f2.8. This first one was shot at f13. The second at f11.

Hi everyone! Wow!! This is really a cool thread. Great pictures btw...

I'm really digging the 14mm Samyang/Rokinon (or the 13mm Vivitar). Can anyone confirm that all these lenses have an A-setting for the Pentax k-mount. Except for the Vivitar, looking at the B&H Photo pictures of the lenses for Pentax (Samyang and Rokinon), they don't appear to have the A-setting (anymore?)... or are they only generic photos of the lenses for other brands? Since there is no auto-focus on this lens, it would be cool to have at least an auto aperture setting...

Thanks in advance and keep the great pictures coming!

Ben

I bought my Rokinon 85mm less than a year ago. It has the 'A' setting.

My Samyang 100-500mm has the "A" setting but my latest lens, the Sears (Samyang) doesn't.

That is not a current gen samyang. 8, 14, 24, 35, 85 all have the A setting for pentax. None of the canons do, and those are the pics they use for stock photos.

I am using a Samyang 14mm in Pentax mount. I HAS the 'A' setting and works very well as an 'A' lens
