Hi!
Don't currently own a Samyang, but i'm looking for something fast and wide to shoot northern lights with. So far i've used the kit lens and the M28 2.8. I find i like the shots with the M28 the best, but i wish it was wider. I was thinking about the Samyang 14mm, but after reading this thread, i can't help but notice that the 8mm fisheye isn't so fishy as other fisheyes - how do you think it will do as a northern lights/starry sky lens? Granted, it's not the fastest lens in the world, but it will record a whole lot of sky...and it's cheap! What do you think?

As much as anything, I'm just wowed by these displays of fisheye virtuosity. Nice stuff!

A while back (6 months+) I remember seeing Samyang announcing a filter set/holder for their 14mm/2.8. Anyone have any news on when it might be released?

Edit: Found the original article (March 2011): Link

Look near the bottom, filter holder looks good to me...where can I buy it?

New Samyang lens to be released! 24mm Tilt Shift!

Saw this on photo rumors the other day, 24mm Tilt shift!!!

EDIT: Picture below is a photoshop of what the lens could look like , it is coming though!

Is this the new Samyang 24mm f/3.5 tilt shift lens? | Photo Rumors

I've been scouting for a Pentax K28 Shift lens for ages (for architecture) and this is wider and has both shift AND tilt- most options are either not wide enough or way too expensive.

So another one to add to the list although won't worry about the other 24mm now

Some very nice images here. I've just perused through 28 pages over on a C*non forum of discussion on the 85mm and there are some stunning images there, as well as elsewhere on the web. I'm finding it really hard to resist, even though I have an M 85 f/2 (which is a beautiful lens, though a stop slower). I could get the Samyang for €250. Problem is, it looks so different from my (many) other lenses, my wife would surely notice it's appearance...

I received my new Samyang 8mm (branded Rokinon) today, and will pop it on my camera when I get home from work. My initial impressions are that it seems to be of much nicer quality than I expected. Nicely dampened focus ring, and metal barrel, that feel heavy and solid.
From the photos I am seeing here, the image quality might be better than I am expecting too....
