Samyang 8mm f/2.8.

I found this one in my archives. I like the idea of two street corners in one picture. It is a theme that I want to explore, but I can't go out at the moment.

Nicely done, love those arcs but I always seem I mess them up, the horizon line doesn't align, sky color is even for most frames but not all even though WB is all set in Camera Raw... Bit jealous of your sky too, seems really dark!

Here's one from a Bortle 4 bordering 5 location, with the same lens with the Samyang badge.

Pentax K-70, single 90 s iso 800 exposure with Samyang 16 F2 @ f/2.0 with diy tracker. Stars spiked with Tiffen double fog 3 filter.

Thanks SunValley. I have been following your astrophotos for some time and even purchased the Rokinon 16mm after you indicated how much you liked it for astrophotography. I think several of your astrophotos are some of the best I have seen. I especially like the one you posted on this thread (page 52) in which the Milky Way was captured over a rural field. It really evoked the feeling of our place in the universe relative to the Milky Way galaxy. Hope to see more of your photos.

Many thanks for your kind words! Glad my starscape has some meaning to you. I really feel my pictures are that of a passenger aboard a tiny spaceship looking out the window!

You can see many of my pictures on my website: Home | Astrotracer

Thanks for the link to your website. I found it to be quite impressive and very informative. I purchased an Astrotracer last year and tried it once. It worked well but I still need to practice with it. Additionally, I need to blend Astrotracer photos of the stars with non-Astrotracer photos of the foreground. The attached Astrotracer photo is a single shot with the resulting blurring of the foreground. (K3 with 16 mm Rokinon and a 120 second exposure. A car drove by during the exposure.) I have tried blending using Photoshop Elements 13 but have had problems, especially when the horizon is complex. So there is still much improvement to be made but it is quite fun.

Thanks! Nice one there too, love the composition. Complex blends are always tough, but I make the still shot with the exact same frame and exposure time as the tracer shot to facilitate the operation if that's any help.

I don't know what your reply means. I don't understand the first clause of the sentence, and I find six meanings for the acronym "DDAS" and I don't understand what any of them might have to do with the photo I posted.

Perhaps you could explain?

Sorry, my reply was obtuse. I liked the photo and the Dartmoor Dave Appreciation Society DDAS tag on your signature strip.

Thanks. Great!

You may copy the tag image and also use it if you wish.
