I don't know from moths.... so if someone wants to tell me what this is feel free. The trouble with insects is there are way to many types.

"With the creation of the macro lens club there was still a grey area left untouched: A place us less conventional macro shooters could post our photo's and equipment setups. Photographs taken with macro lenses by themselves do not belong here. Instead, this is a place for photographs taken with reversed lenses, stacked combinations of lenses, etc. Basically, macro by any means necessary

In addition, examples of your setup used to achieve the photographs are allowed, in fact encouraged This club is meant to be as informative as it is entertaining for you guys

Read more at: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/122-lens-clubs/143202-macro-any-means-necessary-club.html#ixzz3e0djCeYv"

Seems this club has changed directions.....

I certainly don't mind not posting here.... no sweat off my back. You might want to consider a less ambiguous title though.

Macro plus TC fits the description. The only thing excluded are shots with a macro lens alone.

OK then, Sigma 70 macro and HD DA 1.4 TC... even though compared to the work some of these guys do, it still feels like cheating.

Using the Sigma 70 macro and 1.4 TC to get better than 1:1

Closing in on dinner..

This was taken with SMC Takumar 50mm f/1.4 mounted on an Asahi Pentax Bellow Unit II. i used f/16 and an overhead lamp to get this close-up of a pink rose bud.

SMC Pentax M 28mm f/3.5 + Asahi Pentax Extension Tube 2

Took a close-up of a cone flower (Echinacea sp.) with an SMCP M 28mm f/3.5 together with an auto Asahi Pentax Extension Tube No. 2. I set the aperture at f/16 and used a study lamp for lighting. Didn't expect a wide angle lens to make a good "macro" lens on an extension tube : )

The DA 50 is not a great candidate for extension and/or reversal because, like all DA lenses, it depends on having full electrical connection with the camera to operate normally. You could, however, reverse the A 50 onto it for a quick 1:1 macro setup, requiring only a "macro coupling ring" with the correct filter threads (52mm on one side and 49mm on the other).

More versatile options include putting a "close-up filter" such as a Raynox on the 80-200, or putting the A50 onto a bellows.
