Japanese Maple.

A deciduous tree.

A seedling actually, just over a year old.

K-3 with Sigma 50mm f1.4 EX DG HSM

while I may not be sure which is the better lens (this one vs DA* 55/1.4 SDM), I am surprised at this lens' ability to take what should be a simple/safety shot and make something a bit more out of it:

Can't believe I haven't posted here. I have several 50mm lenses.

Just picked up an A50 f1.7.

A couple shots with my new to me A50 f1.7, on my K5IIs.

The same leaf, shot a few minutes apart.

Cross posted everywhere.

Well don't let the authorities see your "Japanese maple" unless it's legal near you

The Japanese maple is a deciduous tree, legal worldwide.

The cannabis plants I posted today were illegal in 1981 when I photographed them, but now, in Washington state, are legal for adult consumption (although still illegal federally).

Oh, and I doubt possession of a photograph of cannabis is illegal.
