Really nice flower shots! Don't often see wide angle for flower photos. Then again, 28mm on crop is not all that wide, I guess!

Meanwhile, I'm just lumbering trough the woods, taking photos of fallen trees.. M 28mm again.

I really like this particular 28mm for flowers because it's very sharp. Thanks for the kind comment. I think I forgot to mention, it's a Sears 28mm Macro.

Awesome shots there Dewman. I have one that I'm trying to repair. Problem is that I am hardly home and I have the Cosmicar(like you).

Thanks for the compliment, Roy. I hope you get your 28mm repaired.

There is a Sears 28mm macro lens available on eBay for a very reasonable price. The copy I have has proven to be exceptional. Just thought I'd mention it in case anyone might be in the market. They are very difficult to find as of late. Auto Sears MC Wide Angle 28mm Lens 1 2 8 Multi Coated Pentax K Mount for SLR | eBay

Does anyone know anything about the Hiya 28mm f2.8? I have had it in my bag since the '80s but have not used it much. Mixed results.

Would you mind posting a pic of the lens sometime when you get a chance? I am now wondering who made that lens. If it's the same as some online pictures that I saw, it's a Cimko. It looks exactly the same as the Cimko 24 2.8 except that it doesn't have the diamond in the red line. As for the 28 - I've seen a report that it's very sharp and contrasty, and another thought it was junk. So there's probably quite a bit of sample variation!
Anyway, if it says Japan it's probably Cimko, but if it says Korea it's Samyang.

I have the smc m-28 2.8 and I love mine. Sharp, great colors. Excellent for astro photography. Not sure what version or copy mine is. It's also great on the Q. Perfect walk-around lens for the Q system.

(Cross-posted from the Vivitar lens club...)

Here is a photo taken with a Vivitar-A 28mm f2.8. It is a six-shot panoramic stitched with Microsoft ICE. Taken with K100DS, ISO200, manual exposure mode.
