Which 28mm lens did you use to take that? Nice colors and sharpness.

K-5II + Kalt 28mm. 1/6th of a second exposure, hand held, out the window of a parked car. Having the door and window frame to brace against helps a lot.

I did just a little bit in post to reduce the halo of fringe around the streetlight. I think I need to up my game there... Something else "fun" is how the .pef RAW file looks nicely saturated in Irfanview but the .jpg looks really flat after I was done. In Chrome the .jpg looks good to my eyes. This leads to needless confusion and I worry about how to go about getting the look I want when I want to have something printed. Probably a lot more reading to do.

Just for fun, a quick comparison between the K28mm f3.5 and the M28mm f3.5
DNGs developed in Silkypix, nothing touched but exposure.

Your images show what I found when comparing the two lenses - the K produces a 3D, realistic quality in some photos that the M does not, I think it's due to contrast or micro-contrast. In sharpness and colour I found them to be virtually identical.

Thanks for doing this comparison. I agree with Jonathan's assessment - there is a subtle but noticeable difference there. As a happy M28/3.5 user, I'd probably have a hard time justifying the price premium of the K28 - unless a bargain came along (not likely!).

You are right, but the difference is very narrow. Both are great.

I will add more pictures to the album.
The bargain appeared, that's why I have both.
The bid for the M reached only 35 euros, and the K was a buy-it-now 74,50 euros incl. shipping bargain that appeared in France.
Both are like new.
