Nice pics pepperberry - I'd be curious to see a b+w version of #2, I think the clouds could show nice...
Have you compared the spiratone to the known 28mm f2's to see what its origin might be - cosina?

it's manufactured by Mitake, so we know that much... but nothing beyond that...

it is a bit soft at f2, better by f2.8, and sharp at f4 and beyond...

it has great color rendition, decent bokeh, but sharpness falls off away center focus...

it is odd in its size - 62mm filter ring, but that gives it a substantial feel and the barrel size aids in fine focusing....
