Nice couple of shots, Ed.

Oleanders again - Image 28/2.8 on *ist D. No idea who made the Image line of lenses. This was my first 28mm, picked it up 9 yrs ago for $15 on the PF Marketplace soon after joining.

Thanks Paul - at least my humble copy of the M 28/2.8 always performs up to any task.

Now, yours has an interesting artistic bokeh to say the least.

Thanks Ed. I'd heard the "rebranded Vivitar" theory before but the Japan/Kiron idea seems to fit. Not a bad lens, not a great lens, but it does have decent sharpness and flare resistance. It's been a reliable performer all these years, and I'd say I've gotten my $15 worth

Here's another old example with the lens:

It's great to see BruceBanner still enjoying my old F28/2.8 - I have more than a tinge of regret about selling that one....

However, after years of searching, I've finally acquired a reasonably priced K28/2.0 - the externals are showing their age, but the glass and mechanicals are mint so I'm a happy camper.

It will take me a while to get a handle on it, but here are a couple of early test shots around the house.

Can anyone recommend a Ø52 hood which will work well with this lens without vignetting on the K-1?

I now have a kiron 28mm f2
I had one of them from the early eighties. I stupidly sold it for a song soon after I bought my K10D in 2009, without really testing its performance. Now, in the full frame era, I regret it even more.

When will I learn?

And I had the pkm mount vivitar version a few years ago, even though I thought it was pretty good at the time on my then K-r, I found it's use not so user friendly on the K-r and decided to sell it. I won't be selling the kiron, I think it's better than the viv close focus f2 I have.
