I'd like to learn to use the flare issue as a calculated effect.

i need my At-x pro to work without focussing issues and for that am willing to trade my body, does K10d/k20d K-5, K-3 read in lightroom as 35 105 instead of for both 80 200 for at-x pro 80 200/2.8 20-35/2.8, its a programming issue of pentax, at-x 28-70 is ok as it reads as 28-80. I am on K-7
this input would be welcome.

uttam.hathi, The lens description in Lightroom is pulled from the EXIF information. If the hex information for the 'LensID' field is not unique, or does not follow the standard conventions, it will read something different than what the lens really is. Most of my third party lenses show up in EXIF as something different than what they really are. I use a plug-in with LIghtroom called 'Lens tagger' that lets me correct this fairly easily and as a side benefit also lets me tag lenses such as my manual lenses that don't write their information to EXIF.

If I read your question right, you are having focusing issues as well. I have several Tokina lenses and the only one that ever really had what I would call focusing issues, was the AT-X pro 80-200/2.8. On the K10, K20 and K5 it would always front focus no matter how much focus adjustment I applied to the lens. I could occasionally hit focus, but it would miss more often than not at F4 and wider. For me that all changed with the K3, it might be the extra focus points or the three center F2.8 points I don't know, but using the 80-200 on the K3 made a huge difference in the focusing, at least for me.

so ricoh is good for pentax, carries the lens database in their software on dslr.
any idea if these are issues with the other two major dslr manufacturer- canon, nikon

---------- Post added 04-19-2016 at 07:25 AM ----------

lens tagger is a post exif tweak, if the exif reads wrong then the interface with software of the dslr is what???? memory issue i guess
