I used GLANZ Digital (Welcome to FVE PTY LTD) made in Japan, which I purchased here in the forum about a year ago. It has the electric contacts for AF. It works with my Tamron AF 90/2.8 too. With the Vivitar 105/2.5 gives me communication with the camera (no AF).

I just realized FVE is a wholeseller, and there is a distributor in Australia.

Both taken on Sunday (2 days ago) with my Vivitar Series 1 28-105 f/2.8-3.8 Macro zoom, on my K10D. I think I had it at 1:2 (maximum magnification, 28mm) for the caterpillar; can't remember for the spider.
I just clicked "buy" on a S1 70-210 macro zoom on the bay. I'm going to Tasmania in a couple of months, and I plan to spend as much time as I can walking around with my Vivitars - with the arrival of my newest purchase (LBA is a harsh addiction) that set will be the 28-105, the 70-210, and a 105 macro. I've seen a few photos around here with that 105 in the botanical garden in Hobart, that's definately on my list of places for a photowalk.

I own the Viv S1 105/2.5 and been having a tough time getting good pictures with it. Admittedly I have used it quite less and that too not for its primary purpose (macro). My understanding is that macro lens are very good for portraits too (albeit sharper). Can anyone tell me if i am doing something wrong here. I have mostly tried shooting at f4/f5.6 and the main problem has been getting the focus spot on (and subsequently sharpness). I use a pentax k-r and try to use catch focus to get the focus spot on
