I think this is my favorite lens. It is my every day use lens and I almost never take it off my camera now. I was starting to develop LBA until I got this lens.

Here are just a couple shots over the year I've owned it.

The Light Fantastic

Some great photos so far, thanks to all who have posted.
Here's my modest entry, I tried to show the versatility of this lens. I've used it for scenics, low-light and night shots, street/walk-around and outdoor social events.
The DA 35mm f/2.4 AL is light, fast, sharp and inexpensive. Hopefully, Pentax will see fit to offer more lenses like this!
JMO,
Ron

and the film used is among the cheapest available. With an Ektar or Reala, i guess you can obtain something much more vibrant.

Wide open, it's already quite saturated and vibrant. The overall result is really link to the film choosen : Superia seems very week on the green chanel.

If you have a body that handle "A" lens, give a shoot with it, it's quite amazing.

Here is another, same body, same film, probably f5.6.

Are you guys using hoods with the lens, or going completely without?

Hoodie?

Great shots from Vishtish, Aurele, Timcatn, Todd and Yiptwo!
Hello Snake,
I can't speak for anyone else, but I use a hood on all my lenses. The one I've used on the DA 35mm is the same hood I bought for the F 35-70mm; A Chinese $5.00 special (eBay) that's called "49mm Wide Angle Metal Hood". It spreads to 75mm at the outer rim.
It does squeak a bit when it's being screwed onto the plastic filter ring, but otherwise works fine and is very cheap insurance against glare and dings.
Here's a photo;
Ron
