I love the coloured versions of the DA 35mm! I would love to get a yellow one to fit my yellow K-01, but I couldn't find one at a reasonable price. I think most of the colours were only available in Japan, for a limited time. Pink is not bad, definitely something special and can help with portraits, because people will look at the lens more happily

You can still get them but I think Pentax stopped producing them on Dec. 24th 2017 (yesterday). Tho you can still get some from Amazon Japan.

That's perfectly fine. The color of the lens rarely comes through to the photograph.

That is true. My black version never produces boring images.

Just bought the 35mm prime

I am an inexperienced photographer wannabe with a KS-2. I'm looking forward to tips to make best use of this lens. I am also wondering if shooting videos with it and taking landscape photos. Any advice with video settings is helpful.

Just got this lens two weeks ago and just loved it. Between this and the 50mm plastic lens I stopped carrying the 18-55 kit lens. Loving the plastic fantastic life. Here are some unedited raw files.

The DA 35 2.4 seems to play well with the JPEG engine, doesn't it? I find that the SOC pictures are usually very good. It seems your experience is similar.

All these pics are super sharp. I wonder why mine isn't sharp... I either have a bad copy or my I need to make sure my focus is right.

Mine needed some AF fine tuning, one of the few lenses that did (on both the K200D and K3). I suspect the quality control on these cheapie plastic lenses is lower than for higher-grade optics.

The need for AF tuning would be my guess. Can you manually focus it and get sharp results?

You know as strange as it may seem I have not. That is the first thing I'm going to try now. Thanks for the tip.

I actually shoot raw and export the format desired. I LOVE natural in situation lighting and sometimes I need the raw file to save an underexposed shot. But this lens is pretty awesome! Going on a trip this weekend and cannot wait to run it through its paces!

Mine was sharp right out the box. I haven't needed to tune this or the 50MM plastic lens. Guess I got lucky?
