Yes, I zoom the Tamron in that length quite a bit ... but I'm also very used to the 50mil due to film ... and my ME Super !!
21 would be nice too, but it's out of my budget right now plus I would like it at a brighter f-stop.
That hood looks nice btw !

@rbefly they look great !! Think this is going to be my next lens. I find it for 175 euros which I think is a great price !

Got my lens last week.. Got to take it away for the weekend. So ive spent a little time with it.

THis lens is only my second auto lens.. The first being the kit 18-55 that came with my K-01.

I have found that when switch to Auto-focus, the K-01 and 35mm had trouble finding focus. I was shooting outdoors, but under cover.. There would have been enough light, but it seemed that, while focus did lock - It missed the subject I was focusing on.

Does anyone else have trouble focussing with the DA35? Is there a specific focus mode I should set?

mine does good, but, i plan to do a focus test chart, sometimes i think it has missed focus, it may or may not need micro adjustment, but sometimes it seems to focus right where i want it, this is on a K-5 though. It may be the size of the auto focus area that i choose, maybe this is where I'm not used to it, it might be bigger than i think. The DA 35 f2.4 seems to be an ok lens, but does focus differently to the FA 50 i have and in general there is a difference to the Canon 60D and the 60mm f2.8 that i also use, but i am happy with the DA for the price.
I wear glasses an i think i will get the Pentax Magnifying Eye cup 0-ME53, that might help the situation.

My new baby came Monday. I did a bunch of test shots around the house, but this morning was my first chance to really play.

Thanks. I got off a few good shots. Still had focus troubles as mentioned earlier.

Not as sharp as I would have hoped. But this was indoors and handheld. So there may have been some movement.

I haven't spent near enough time with mine yet. My first impression: definitely better than the kit lens. The only focusing problems I have had so far have are pretty obvious: I've been on the floor with my grandkids (indoors, no flash) and my 9 month old granddaughter makes a beeline for me every time (my camera the target). Sooo... No question why I had trouble focusing on those pics. 😄
I'm hoping for some more camera time this weekend (with more cooperative subjects - lol).

After a little bit more play, I am seeing there is some back/front focusing and I have a couple where the kids were side by side and one kid in focus the other not. It's not happening every time, and I think it's just at wider apertures. Not sure if it's the lens or the camera. Guess I need to mess around with it some more & try to figure it out.
