Just picked up this lens two weeks ago. Love this lens already. Not a great shot composition wise but I'm learning

I'm finding this to be a terrific landscape lens. The amount of details is great! The first picture, even though it's cropped, shows well in very large monitors (I have it as my desktop background picture at work...)

The DAL 35/2.4 was my low light lens in an indoor market on a recent trip to Bilbao

I took these shots in the city recently, with a K-70 + DA 35mm. Great sharpness with this little lens.

I tried out the DAL 35/2.4 on the K-3 instead of 35/1.4 on X-T20 to photograph the little one one afternoon last week. I found I got images of a different style using the SLR and slower lens. AF was faster but less accurate.

Looking at this thread, I'm about convinced I need one. I have a 40mm xs right now. Honestly, it's a big reason I got into Pentax when I did. But after using it, eh. The focal length is a little tight for everyday use. I think this would fit very nicely between my 40 and 28 (which is my everyday lens, thinking it's easy enough to crop if I have to).

Do it mate, you won't be disappointed. It's cheap, bloody sharp, light and versatile. This thread has reminded me I need to dust mine off and get some use out of it.
I might take just the 35mm and 100mm for a sharp and lightweight travel setup later this year

Let us know how the travel setup works, Ian. I would be tempted to carry an additional wider lens, say a 15mm or 21mm Limited or an old 24mm. This will still give you a travel kit with all 49mm threads for filters, shades/hoods and "diopters".

Which 100mm do you have, one of the macros? I was about to try the 35mm as a walkaround lens on my K70...set to ISO 400, Av 5.6 and just go around snapping away. I planned to start my trial today but it rained all day here in Perth, so maybe next week I will try. I am not yet totally familiar with the 35mm, having been spoiled by the 40mm Limited.

I have the DFA 100mm, it's a ripper little lens. You won't need iso @400 with the 35mm, it lets plenty of light in.
I always like the wide lenses too, I'm hooked on my da10-17mm, however have had the occasional outing where I've forced myself to take just the 35mm and it's worked out quite well, looks quite similar to a 50mm on film, plus it's light.
Usually when I travel I take a few lenses, but as you know, it's a pain, and a long lens is usually only useful if we go to a zoo.
