While working overseas, to save space and weight, I took only the DA 18-135mm and the 40mm XS. I kept the 40mm on my K-5 for shots in tight spaces, like an aircraft interior. Great low-light performer.

40 XS is great for low light, as it Is already very good wide open: contrasty, sharp, good colors, and gives good amount of details.

Just bought another copy of this little crêpe lens I've invested more into µ43 lately, but this is ideal with that kit between my 20/1.7 and 60/2.8!

I am looking to buy a small compact (pancake) everyday carry lens.
After clicking thru all these excellent pictures I am loving the 40mm the full frame cameras..
Since I use APS-C, I'm now thinkin of a ~28mm!

The picture I posted above is on APS-C. I used this lens on my K-5 for several years until I purchased a K-1, so have no fear of how well it does on APS-C whether for close in Portrait

A quiet night scene with tricky lighting

A detailed object against a complex background

Or even a landscape

I got this lens on a whim and I've found myself absolutely loving it. I thought 40mm on APS-C would be too tight but it's a pretty good fit for what my eye falls on while I'm walking around.
