One of my favorite lenses. Need to sell one for Canon, and buy one for Pentax instead.

My attempt to get Sigma for Pentax did not end lucky, I will return Sigma EX DC to the ebay seller from Japan.
The lens is seriously back focusing. Not a little. I contacted Sigma repair, and the guy told me that the adjustment will cost around $80, and I need to send the lens and my camera to them. Only in case if the lens is back focusing only with VF. In case with the same issue with LV it will cost more, and he can't provide with an estimate before I send the lens.
Yep, my copy has the same issue when focusing in LV. The seller will accept return.

Well... it's always the risk when buying old lenses. One day I will get a good copy.

Another copy of Sigma, bought from the forum member. Much better than the first copy from Japan, but still I noticed very slight back focusing with VF. Accurate focus is with LV. Now I'm sure that my K5iis needs calibration, but I really, really don't want to ship my camera to Sigma Cat-o-test wide open. Love this dreamy mood.

I didn't realize how sharp this lens could be. Attached photo is with K5IIs. 1/400 at F8. ISO 160
I'm enjoying this image as desktop wallpaper (1920x?) on a 24 inch monitor. A great reminder to pack this lens when heading out.
Cheers

When I saw you sold the Tamron 17-50 (which you did great work with) mostly because of the Sigma 30 Art, I paid attention It's one of the reasons I kept looking at it.

I'm still mostly exploring the Siggy wide open at f/1.4... great contrast and color even wide open. The 2nd pic had sharpening added, and vignetting. I felt I needed it. And it's cropped.

This thread had not seen a lot of love lately, thought I'd add a few shots I took with this lens, I intended to use this lens as my sole large aperture prime for a trip later this year so the following are just test shots for the condition, wide open f1.4
