The lens is obviously excellent, but the shot and the way you captured the light is no less good! Bravo.

Going wide with a wide aperture

K-1 and 21/2.8 ZK @ 2.8

Tas

I recommend viewing this in the larger size (2000 pixels on the long side) at Flickr using the expanded view and f11.

Recently I asked David from Leitax if he could -technically- make a Leitax mount for the Contax 100-300 zoom for Pentax camera's. It is relatively light (925 grams) and only 16 cm. Prices, around €800.
He replied it would indeed be possible, but there would not be much demand for. Leitax already has a mount for this lens on Canon camera's.

Ronny Olsson (Google him!) uses the Contax 100-300 with a Sony A7 II and gets stunning results with it.
This zoom would be a top quality and cheaper alternative to the newest Pentax and other, older zoom lenses on the K-1.

Perhaps some of you could mention this/your interest to David, so he might be persuaded to make a Pentax mount for this lens.

Sorry, but there's NO Way I'm going to lie to my friend David Llado! Doing so would only mislead him into thinking he'll sell more of these mounts then he really will.

Besides, this lens will not enable you to take photos like Ronny Olsson. He's an artist that produces exceptional images regardless of the equipment he uses.

RemcoR,

If you're seeking support for a new K mount adaptor by Leitax you could seek interest from other forum members through raising a poll and asking the question. This will give you a better idea of how much interest there is for a new Contax/PK adaptor. As the 100-300 is not the only lens in that mount you can pitch the question around the range of lenses released in that mount that would otherwise not fit Pentax cameras.

If there's lots of interest it can be provided to Leitax to support your request. If however there's very little interest from the forums then you will have your answer on whether it's worthwhile for Leitax to invest in a new adaptor.

Well since this thread is about photos captured with Zeiss lenses: K-1 & 21/2.8 ZK

K1 with Zeiss Milvus 85mm f/1.4 lens

Attached is a photo of my Zeiss ZF Milvus 85mm f/1.4 lens on my K1 camera. It's the highest rated Zeiss lens that can be adapted to the Pentax K1 camera.

This was the 16th Zeiss lens I've converted to Pentax K mount with a Leitax adapter. It was the most difficult conversion I have done so far. It took me about 3 times longer to convert this Milvus lens then other Zeiss "Classic" lenses I've converted.

The first photo I took was my wife's face. Attached is a 100% crop of her eye. I was very impressed with the sharpness of this photo - especially when considering it was hand held at f/1.4.

The weather is finally getting better here, the grass is turning green and a few of my spring flowers will be in flower next week. I will try to post some outdoor photos in the next few days to show you more about the capability of this lens on the K1 body.

The tank with his barrel ... To keep a low profile, it's the solution..
For sure it's excellent... The Sigma Art 85/1.4 could have been my favorite for a better price/performance ratio but not for their bulk...
Why didn't you choose the Sigma one?

All of my "main lenses" are Zeiss ZF lenses that I've converted to Pentax K mount.

I have owned many other brands (e.g. Sigma, Samyang, etc.) but I have decided to specialize in strictly Zeiss lenses because I prefer: the Zeiss look (especially the 3D pop you get at wide apertures), and the Zeiss quality (I've taken apart many lenses and Zeiss build is much better than Sigma build).

He he, what can I say?
Oh yes, I can't say much more than that: you made fall my bottom to the ground!

Having a play with a Singh Ray Gold N' Blue to see how it would work for PP to B&W. I didn't quite get to B&W but an aged/desaturated look interested me more so I went with that.

K-1 and 21/2.8.

My to go lens for several years on the A7r and now on the A7rII. Wonderful rendering and clarity. Only downside being the pronounced CA. Also, 28mm lends itself to easy shooting while having wide covering. Since I got the 25/2, I have found that I have to be careful regarding perspection distortion even though there is only 3 mm difference
I have shot from 28mm to 560mm for years, but never wider than 28mm, and it really does get tricky below 28mm.

Chris what adapter you use with R2 and 28/2? I ran into very weird issue with Novoflex Nikon to Sony adapter where the field curvature of the lens was almost reverse of that with a DSLR body. Now it works fine Leitaxed to K-1.

28/2 should be in every K-1 users bag.

The Leica last version Elmarit-R 28/2.8 is also a "must have".
