Hi all

Not sure if anyone was watching my ebay listings for my zeiss lenses, but unfortunately there were some technical problems with all my listings and they had to be re-listed again. So if you were watching the items, you've been cut off from the listings.

Kindly,
Rob.

Thank you Lightsource

About 18 months ago, Rob (PM name Lightsource) got in touch with me about selling my ZK Makro Planar lenses (2/50 & 2/100) to him. I wasn't able to help Rob get these excellent lenses, but he persisted elsewhere and found someone ready to sell theirs in a package that included the ZK lens that had eluded me for years; the Distagon T* 21/2.8. So Rob got his Makro Planars and gave me the opportunity to pick up the elusive Distagon 21/2.8 ZK. Now, as Rob has moved on I feel I must acknowledge his help and thank him for finally connecting me with what is one of my favourite lenses. Hopefully other owners of the 21/2.8 drop by and share what they've captured with this lens too.

K-1 and Carl Zeiss Distagon T* 21/2.8 ZK (ta Rob, good luck going pro with Nikon )

The sunrise shot above was taken on the headlands near the Lighthouse at Port Macquarie in NSW. Prior to the other image I captured some shots facing south along the coastline as the colours were your typical magentas and cyans observed before sunrise. I felt though that this was a nothing image so decided to play with it in post to see what textures could do whilst retaining the natural colours present at the time. Looking at it now I wished I'd cloned out that mongrel sign on the right. Man is it distracting. Actually maybe even the two people near the sign too? Any thoughts?

Hope to see more pics from others soon as I've been too slack to get out and capture some new one.

Yes, 28mm is a very nice focal length, wide enough to include surroundings, but still not so wide as to get the dramatic distortion of perspective. And the 28/2 is a very nice lens.
I will miss it, as I am almost done myself, transitioning from Pentax K Zeiss to Loxia Zeiss on the Sony A7rII. And unfortunately, there is no Loxia 25 or 28mm. 21 is definitely too wide for me.

I have one lens left to sell: the Zeiss makro planar 50mm f2.... Amazing how fast they sold

Zeiss ZK 50mm f2 makro planar

Hello,

Should anyone in Europe be interested: I just put my mint Zeiss ZK 50mm f2 makro planar on the Pentax marketplace. I have already sold all of my other ZK lenses, this is the last one. The others were gone before I knew it, but this one is still for sale.

50 Makro vs DA*55 as a portrait/landscape lens

Hi!
My question is to those who had an experience of shooting both Zeiss 50/2 Makro Planar and Pentax DA*55/1.4. Could you tell me your thoughts on these lenses regarding portrait and landscape photography? I have the DA*55 and I like this lens. However, I also saw some images (not macro ones) from 50/2 Makro Planar that look gorgeous. Now I wonder whether the Zeiss really does deliver a better "3D look" or it were just better PP-skills of corresponding photographers.
