Around 2010-2011 I had the 21/2.8 ZK, 35/2 ZK and the 100/2 ZK MP. All bought new direct from Zeiss. Then my interest for photography faded and I sold them cheap.

Of course BIG regrets now when my interest for photography is coming back Both the 100 and the 21 are now very hard to find and expesive if you do, as you know.

Now I am trying to come back in the "Zeiss-game" since I love what Zeiss add to a picture. Was really lucky and found the 100 Makro Planar on a small local buy & sell site.

I have also bought the 28, 35, 50 Planar, 85 and now the 100. Also having a Voigtlander APO-Lanthar 180 on the top. LBA have returned with a vengeance....

Well that's awesome you were able to find it at a good price! I was able to get the Voigtlander and waiting for it to arrive. How do you like it?

Would do you believe that I started to buy the lenses before the K1? When I decided to start photographing again, Pentax and the K1 was the obvious choice. But no K1's were available to buy, so I started the other way around with the lenses. So I have not tried it yet, but its built like a Zeiss lens. Well, I think that you will have the possibility to try it out before me. Looking forward to some pictures when you have taken your first test shots, if possible

Now K1's are available in the stores so I will soon be able to enjoy my new lenses.

The Voigtlander Lanther 180 came. This lens rocks!!! It is the smallest 180 I have ever seen! The Zeiss lens are bigger. It's slim like a Leica.
Here is a close focus pic. Shot on Tav, jpeg, straight out the trailer, no adjustments except resize in windows. I like the tonal quality, and smooth transitions of the whites. What do you think? Smooth right?

Looking great!! Yes it is amazingly small. Without the hood it fits in the hand. Add en extender and you would have 250mm, or more, in your pocket

One from back in May

Back when I could still get up and capture a sunrise at the beach.

K-1 and the 21/2.8 ZK.

Oh, this isn't sharpened other than the default LR6 import setting. The image was primarily processed in On1 Photo Raw and focussed on contrast and colour.

can't argue with that one - very nice image, thanks for sharing. You continue to make a very good case for the ZK 21

If you have (or would like to have) the Zeiss 100/2 Makro Planar lens I encourage you to check out Ash Swarup's review of this incredible lens!

It's the only lens that I own two copies of because I could not bear to be without it.

Fenwoodian, do you also have the Voitlander 125 Lanther? I would be interested in buying it, if you do.

Waiting for a Christmas light display

I headed into the big smoke the other day to capture some images of the Christmas light show projected onto the town hall, but went in a bit earlier and had a womble around; as you do.

The 21/2.8 and the K-1.

Not a particularly good photo but I liked the light in the foreground and the thread has been pretty quiet so something's better than nothing.

I can understand that, it's a good FOV, it focuses closely and renders nicely like a Zeiss should.
