So far as who will be the first, I think his name is Dave.

Tas, I already have the older "classic" version of the Zeiss 35mm f/1.4.. It's of course a ZF version that I converted to K with a Leitax adapter.

Sure, the new Milvus version is sharper (per Lloyd Chambers).

However, I went back an reviewed Lloyd's earlier review on the Zeiss 35/1.4 classic lens. He raved about its' rendering calling it "painterly".

Now he's all hot on the newer Milvus version, primarily because of it's terrific sharpness. Well, sharpness is not my thing. My thing is "painterly" images. So I guess I'm just going to keep the older version because I prefer painterly over cut-your-eyeball sharp.

I've sure got Zeiss lens collection fever bad! I just purchased a Zeiss ZF (Nikon mount) Milvus 50mm f/1.4 lens. I've always got a few extra Leitax Nikon F to Pentax K adapters laying around, so I should be able to get it converted to K mount soon after receiving it next week.

I plan to take detailed photos of the entire adaption process and send the photos to David Llado at Leitax. He'll likely include them on his website so folks can see how to convert Zeiss Milvus ZF lenses to K mount.

To help fund this impulsive purchase, I'm selling two Zeiss ZF "Classic" lenses that I converted to K mount and just don't use much. One is a Zeiss 50mm f/2 Makro Planar, and the other the extremely popular Zeiss 25mm f/2.8 Distagon lens. While my ebay ads say I won't ship outside of the USA, I will do so if you are a member of this Pentax Forum AND you are willing to pay the extra shipping expenses.

As usual, after I receive and convert this new Zeiss Milvus lens, I'll be sure to post a few photos here in this thread.

Into the archives

This image is one that I've been interested in redoing for some time. It was taken 5 years ago with the K5 and the Distagon 2/35. The image is posted to Flickr and it's best viewed there at 2000px high using the expanded view and fullscreen using F11.

Going nuts in post processing

Another with the K-1 and the 21/2.8. I was just mucking around with the image in On1 Photo RAW to push past the type of PP I normally do.

Thanks Fenwoodian. The 35 always does a great job of rendering details.

'Scottish' Dancers

A local event on here today so I took the 21/25(should have been the 35 but I grabbed the wrong lens)/ and the 85 for a look around.

This was shot at the wrong shutter speed and aperture, I'm so rusty with shooting at the moment it's embarrassing. Anyhoo, this was the Planar 85.

And this was the Distagon 25/2.8, both captured on the K-1.
