Yep, that's why they call it Magnolia Grandiflora I have one off my porch and tend to get photographically obsessed with it at this time of year. The flowers go through a several day 'life cycle' and have a lovely fragrance.

It was actually roasting hot that day by our standards... 12 C, it ads to the clarity of the thought process.
