Thank you Tina. All compliments should rightfully go to my wife, who took the photo - for once I got to be the subject (and the packhorse)

Well, I love it. The little boy really knows how to pose for a picture!

No lens hood is supplied but 52mm hoods are easily available and inexpensive.
I have a replacement petal 52mm hood (for my 18-55), and it doesn't work, won't tighten on the lens.

I just got this lens free as a package deal with the K3, and so far really love it! Here's one of the first I took with this lens, yesterday. No PP whatsoever, except resizing to post.

it may not help, but the clip on petal hood for my Sigma Mini-Wide 28mm lens fits perfectly on my DA 50mm...

Thanks! I'll try to find one. I was quite surprised when the 52mm didn't fit.

Carol I just use a cheap collapsible rubber one one mine. It works just fine. You don't need a petal hood. The petal design is only needed for wide focal lengths to prevent vignetting. Beautiful shot by the way.
I wish I had scenery like that here.

Picked up one of these based on everyone's recommendations on this site, I was not disappointed! Managed to snap Winston the rabbit sitting still for once.

A recent sunset shot.
I had to remove a fair amount of chromatic aberration manually in Lightroom, otherwise it worked out well I think.

Very nice, crisp shot, Alex. After browsing over several pages of photos using this lens, I asked myself, "Is there any doubt that this is one of the most fantastic lenses in it's price range to ever come down the Pentax Pike?"

When I first got mine and downloaded the first test shots, I almost wet my pants! Such color! Such saturation! Such sharpness! Such beautiful bokeh! It's like my VISA card.... I never leave home without it! I may not use it, but it's a wonderful feeling, just knowing that I've got that little hunk of glass and plastic waiting patiently to perform it's magic on command!

I love those shots, Alex! I just realized I haven't uploaded anything here since my first test shots. Here's one.
