Nice hot chocolate shots TinaS! As you said Dewman, I find this lens and the other plastic, DA 35 f/2.4, to produce wonderful photos - especially considering their price. And the lightweight plastic build appeals to me. I fear ever trying the FA 77 / 43 / 31mm Ltds, in case I would never find the plastics beautiful again

Here is a shot I took with 50mm on my K-3, hand held.
It was the Atlanta Model show. Wish I could say I built this model but not mine.

Using the Fantastic Plastic Fifty on the K-3ii for my first set of portraits with off camera flash setup. I know there are improvements to be had, but I love this lens.

Very nice set. You did a good job on your first attempt! I'm where you are, just starting with off camera flash.

I just bought this lens. Give me a little time to grab some frames, and I'll post my first experience.

K-3 with DA 50mm f1.8

I completely forgot about this thread - and I'm using the 'plastique fantastique' in the Single In challenge this month....

Thanks very much! There was a lot of build up for me over the last two months preparing for taking these. It's my son, so not too much harm if they didn't turn out, but i was really happy with the outcome. I had no doubt the camera/lens combo would be fine, but was really anxious about setting up and getting things in the right spot.

If you haven't already visited you should check out Strobist: Lighting 101. There is another Strobist: Lighting 102, but the 101 is really good to get you started and give some confidence.

I've read several sites, but not these. I will check them out. Thank you! I practiced with my husband a few times before doing cap & gown photos for some girls last weekend. They came out nice, but there's definitely room for improvement. I'm doing more today, so hope it goes well.

Joining this club. I needed another prime, and the DA 50mm 1.8 was it.

DA50 f 1.8

I really like the way the 50/1.8 captures colors, great fidelity.
