I usually like to shoot people with it, from half portrait to headshot, from creamy wide open to tack sharp a little stopped down. Up close and personal. But I can't (don't want to) post those pics for privacy reasons, which is kind of a shame because the lens really shines there.

Just got my little nifty fifty today. Wanted something for photographing musicians in low light bar shows, ended up testing on one of my cats!

Lighting was a little brighter behind me at home, so I dropped the iso down a hair, but left everything else how I shoot at shows The first was at f2 and the second wide open. The f2 was just to get some intentional slight under exposure on the first. 1600 iso to prepare for what I intend to shoot, and 1/200 for the shutter. Noise was much easier to clean up than with the kit lens at the 55mm end! I think I'm gonna love this.

Super Moon 2019 02 20 Pyrénées mountains

I was lucky to have my 50mm f1.8 that day-night, the longest focal I had with me, the day after super moon in a clear weather, a good moment from "le Calvaire de Font-Romeu"

D-FA 50mm f1.8 aquits itself nicely wide open

Took my fantastic 50 out for a spin last weekend, and she did not disappoint. It's so small, and capable, that I won't be leaving this one home very often.
