Went to Niagara Falls State Park, NY on a sunny Sunday afternoon. I usually head over to a much less frequented part of the park, called Three Sister's Islands. During the winter this section is closed off to the public but you can still park around there and walk through the mainland wooded area - just the islands are closed off. The birds and squirrels were out in droves, giving me many photo opportunities. Unfortunately, the only birds I recognize are the Cardinals ; the others are a mystery. I think I'm going to pick up a bird identification book for next time. These were all taken with my Sigma 70-200mm APO EX lens and Sigma 1.4x APO EX teleconverter.
zman go to WhatBird | identify birds | bird identification guide | north america then click on search next to the home tab once you enter all the attributes you will know what the bird is . If you still can't find it just post a photo on the forum they have and the great people there will tell you in a matter of seconds . Great Photos all of them .

I'm getting towards the end of my "Single in Challenge" for August with this "Wedding Lens"........ anyway I really like it as a nice walk around "Bush" lens....equivalent of 100-300mm when it's on a K3.

F3.2 @ 200mm

Few shots from today's walk at a local nature preserve. Been pretty hot in Western NY last couple of days, but I'm not complaining - I know what's coming in a few months.

Taken with my K5 and Sigma 70-200 EX APO with Sigma 2x teleconverter. PP with ACR and PSE 9.

Why I keep my Sigma 70-200/2.8.......sometimes you need F2's and 3's.... .... ceremony of "Ringbalin" at Goolwa - Dancing the Spirit back into the river....Sigma 70-200/2.8

These were taken in difficult conditions and 200mm was a bit shorter than ideal, but this lens still does a decent job. The subject was fast, the air a little bit hazy and the sun was behind the Hornet. I normally pre-set manual focus for aircraft, but I thought I'd give the K-3ii HSM II combination a test. There were a lot of keepers from the day. It really is a great lens.
